Whats the fastest way to get from London Heathrow airport to Falmouth in Cornwall?
Any form of transportation is ok (airplane, car, train, etc.)
Hi. I come from Falmouth and I would say plane to Newquay then bus it from Newquay to Falmouth.
Train would probably be faster. Heathrow to Paddington, Paddington to Truro, Truro to Falmouth. It's hassle having to change and quite expensive.
Can i use my oyster card around heathrow and slough area?
I was told that i can use it as long as i buy zone 6 but the information person said other wise now i'm confuse. Our hotel is the heathrow premier inn which is in bath road. We will be travelling till the end of slough to catch the connection bus (legoland express) to go there. I'm not sure if this is right as i have been getting mix messages.
Do you think its cheaper to hire a car?
i was told it will take at least 45 minutes to travel on bus but 20 minutes on a car. Does that sound about right?
I am a wheelchair user and not sure if all tubes are accesible thats why bus is my other option.
yes you can
What are the regulations on car impounding in and around London? ?
My brothers car was clamped and impounded in a london suburb the other day (Near heathrow). He was charged £360 to get it released. this sounds like a ridiculous amount of money. Can anybody clarify this a bit more or provide some information on impounding fees etc.
Thanks
I don’t actually think the car pounding companies are regulated - they often appear on the BBC programme “Watchdog” for their bullyboy antics.
The £360 fee does seem incredibly steep but these companies are a law unto themselves.
Anyone know any cheap hirecar companies where we can hire a car from Sheffield, drop it off at Heathrow, and a month later pick another one up to get us back home?
With two people, it's going to cost £70 for a return coach, and the trains are a rip off.
Alternatively there is my car, which is a shed, anywhere I can dump it nearby to Heathrow for free?
……I think you will find hiring a car will be more expensive as you are not returning to the depot and will have to pay a premium for this. I would guess £50 for each journey, then there is the fuel to pay for, another £20.
You could try Megabus.com They have trips to and from Sheffield, book 2 weeks in advance and it will cost you no more than £5 per person each way. But then you have to consider getting to and from the Airport. Hope this helps.
How long does it take from Heathrow airport to London by taxi?
I actually have booked a car rushing back to my house from Heathrow. ETA is 0635, do you think I can be back (Willesden Green) by 0900?? Is 2.5 hrs enough?? Please help!!! Don't forget I have custom check and other stuff….
It takes about 40 minutes to clear customs at Heathrow so you should be out about 07:20 - height of the rush hour! if your driver sticks to the M4 motorway and joins the A406 North Circular coming off at the Neasden Underpass the journey SHOULD take about an hour, so unless there are major holdups you should be in Willesden at about 08:30
I am going to UK in late march and early april. I want to hire a car with GPS in London Heathrow Airport. Which car hire company is the best?
And what kind of insurance should I join?
I'm not sure you will get a car with a GPS unless you go for really top range expensive cars. Avis or any of the other firms at the airport are reliable. As long as you have your passport etc, your insurance will be included in the cost of your rental.
Anyone recommend a reasonable car hire company near Heathrow airport please
I used to use Avis when I needed to hire a car.
what's the cheapest and best place to rent a car from in London - I'm flying to Heathrow?
1Car1 is cheap - £30 a day for a Vectra. I haven't rented from the Heathrow branch however.
